The Man Wants Guide to: Manchester’s Independent Coffee Shops

Independent Manchester Coffee Shops

I moved from London to Manchester, a few years ago and I’m still getting formally acquainted with the City’s diverse and eclectic culture. From the low-key chaos of the Northern Quarter to the calm of Castlefield, it’s no wonder that Manchester means so much to so many. So, the first thing I do when residing in a new City is scout out to the best social spots and nothing floats my boat more, than some of the best Independent Manchester Coffee Shops.

Independent Coffee Shops are my ultimate go-to for business and leisure, not to mention a great cuppa! (See how my Northern dialect is creeping in) So, I figured it’s about time I shared my thoughts on some of the best Independent Manchester Coffee Shops for cake, coffee and conversation.

North Tea Power, Tib Street

Speciality coffee, tea and infusions make North Tea Power, a must-try for brew connoisseurs and amateur’s a like. As one of the most popular, independent Manchester Coffee Shops, their extensive menu of food and drink, offers the unexpectant opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and indulge in a little something different. Plus- their breakfast & all day brunch menu is an absolute stunner!

The Koffee Pot, Oldham Street

It wouldn’t be right to offer a guide to the best Independent Manchester Coffee Shops without including the Mancunian Institution, that is The Koffee Pot. The Koffee Pot has been recognised as landmark in Manchester’s culture for generations, with an involvement with some of Manchester’s most iconic musicians, artists, poets and creatives. By day it serves hearty, home-made food and by night in transforms into a relaxed cocktail bar. The Koffee Pot now even has it’s own Art Gallery Space, so you can squeeze in a little culture whilst attacking that post-hangover Fry Up.
